Today during Sacrament Meeting we sang one of My favorite Hymns, I have many even though I don’t sing them well. It was I know My Redeemer Lives Hymn 136. It always give me comfort. My favorite part today was when at the end Sasha, from my lap joins in on the last line, Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives I know that my Redeemer Lives. On the way home I asked her, “Who is your Redeemer?” Her answer, “ Everyone knows it is Jesus, mom.” I guess she told me.
I also realized this week why I like the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon so much. The wars I can relate to the people, no I have never lived in a war zone but I think of life as a battle. A battle to endure, to over come temptation, to be kind, to love, to accept our weaknesses the list goes on… In the war chapters we learn to hold fast and be faithful to come out of this war victorious. so when we come to the end of our life we can say as the Apostle Paul did “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:”
Yes, I get bogged down in life and forget to look at the big picture and the fact that what ever it is we are battling will end and we will come out, maybe scars bruised but we will be stronger.
