There are three kinds of people in the world; turtles, sponges, and ducks. When the wind and rains and storms of adversity come, or when troubles try and drown us, people respond in three different ways. The turtles hide under there shells, ignoring their problems and troubles. They do not deal with the issues at hand. Confrontation in not something they do. So trouble piles up, adversity wins and the problems don't go away but hinders the turtle by keeping him in his shell.
The sponges soak up every little problem, every little imperfect thing they do. They soak it up and then dwell on it, not letting anything escape. They soak it all in and what happens then? The are weighed down by grief, remorse, guilt, and envy. Being a sponge is a heavy burden indeed.
And then there are ducks. Ducks are water proof, they don't pull in their tales and hide, they don't soak it in. They let it roll off their backs. You can't get a duck wet. Adversity and problems just don't stick to these people. It's a great life to be a duck. When the storms of adversity come and problems try to drown you, just be a duck and let it roll right off your back. So again I say, be a duck today!
