A realization of my blessings.

Yeah I know that I am blessed, but being human I forget about the ones that have always been here until I am reminded. That is what happened this week we went to the Anne Frank: A History for Today Exhibition at the mall. Reading the timeline and the persecution of so many people, just for not being born a certain way. Also the living conditions they lived in, on streets hiding in fields, makes my small apartment seem huge. They didn't know when they would get teh call up letter to report to a work/concentration camp. If they survived they were usually alone not knowing where their family was or if they were even alive. Compared to some people the Jews had it good, Gypsy groups were shot on the streets in their neighborhoods.

The blessings I take for granted are my freedom to live without fear that my family and life will be ripped apart. That I get to worship God how I want. I probably could make a list to last till next year but we get the point, I like most people, even if I do not have a lot have it pretty good. I think exhibits like this are important so we don't forget what we have. I you get a chance tou should make the effort to go. It is a traveling exhibit so it might come near you.

Thanks for sharing. It's always good to remember the blessings we have... especially the ones we sometimes take for granted.

When I went to Tia's in Germany in 2007 we went to Dachau. It is an experience that is very dear to me - it is extremely hard to express the feelings I had while I was there. It is very important that EVERYONE knows just what happened during that time in our world's history.
